Kimchi Hollandaise

Happy new years! I hope everyone is off to a great start. My word this year is CS. As much as coding give me a headache, I need to stop procrastinating.

On the culinary side, I’m proud to say that I am very much on trend. The NYT listed “chaos” as the number 1 food trend in 2023. Think: bulgogi tacos, miso cheesecake, Sushi pizza. I’ve contributed gochujang fudge so far and have more ideas coming down the pipeline

On that note, here is a wonderfully chaotic recipe to kick off the new year. I present…. Kimchi hollandaise. I put it on a classic omlette with spring onions. It will also spice up any egg Benedict.

Let’s get cooking!

Kimchi Hollandaise

Ingredients

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1tbsp kimchi liquid
  • 1tbsp water
  • 4tbsp butter

Directions

  1. Cut butter into small chunks. Combine egg yolk, kimchi liquid and water in a small sauce pan and whisk until well combined.
  2. Add butter into saucepan and turn heat to low. Continue whisking vigorously until the sauce thickens into a gravy consistency.
  3. Remove from heat, serve and enjoy!

Have a wonderful new year! Cheers to more chaotically eats to go.
