Lemon Merengue Magic

Lemon Merengue Magic

Summer is all about parties, and  this bright bubbler will get any party going. I tested it out at the New Year’s party a while back and the moms couldn’t get enough of it. Even though it was literally snowing outside, everyone wanted a taste of summer!

This simple sparkler combines the bright acidity of fresh lemon with spicy whisky, all balanced with the sweetness of honey jazzed up with a cool egg white foam.  Let’s get mixing!

First, make some lemonade. Simply mix lemon juice with honey until desired sweetness. This is the base of the cocktail, so be generous. Needless to say, fresh lemon works best. Also, the lemon juice is cold but the acid will dissolve the honey (or any sweetener) for that matter.

After making the base, pour into a cocktail shaker or blender with the egg whites and mix until foamy. Shake WELL, no one likes a slimy cocktail! If using a cocktail shaker, make sure it has a cup jiggler

I tried it without one and it was still slimy after 5 minutes of vigorous shaking.

Also, the recipe does rely on raw egg whites, so be sure the eggs are as fresh as possible.

Once foamy, pour into glass with whiskey and ice. Garnish with lemon. Serve and Enjoy!
