Wok Smoked Chicken Drumsticks

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I didn’t go home, but had a wonderful celebration with some discord friends

The semester is OVER!!! Exams went okay… But to celebrate the end, I’ve decided to treat myself to something special. Smoked drumsticks!!

Obviously I don’t have a smoker, but I don’t need one. My friend let me borrow his wok; there’s rice in the house. That’s all I need.

Wok Smoking 101

Line the wok with foil and place the rice at the bottom. Cover with foil. Turn heat to high.

When there’s smoke, reduce heat to medium, place rack with chicken in the wok. Cover with foil.

Wok Smoked Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients

  • 4 Chicken Drumsticks, skin on (~22oz)
  • Seasoning salt, to taste ( I use Lawry’s Seasoning salt)
  • 2tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 cups rice + dried spices (optional), for smoking

Directions

  1. Place the drumsticks in a bowl with soysauce. Marinate for 30-90min.
  2. Season generously with seasoning salt. Place on a wire rack and allow to dry overnight.
  3. Prepare the smoking set up.
  4. Smoke for 15-20min. Remove from heat and broil for another 8-10 minutes or until skin is crispy and internal temp reaches 165F
  5. Serve and enjoy!
