… that’s right, after three finals the semester is OVER. I must say, it passed a lot quicker and smoother than expected. I thought I’d do a little reflection.

I got lucky again– My professors this semester were AMAZING. Thanks to them, the semester went very smoothly. Special shoutout to my maths prof. I was expecting a nightmare. He walked us through step by step and provided more than enough support- including helping us on the homework. My OB professor also went above and beyond. She actually shared a cool conference with me (although, I did have to skip group presentations to attend it 😉 )

There are benefits to Zoom– Zoom classes, for the most part, suck; however, it hasn’t been all bad. To start, the chat function is awesome. I can ask/answer as many questions as I want and drop semi- relevant jokes in. Second, since lectures are recorded, I can learn on my own time and do other stuff. Speaking of other stuff, now that seminars and meetup are remote, I can ACTUALLY ATTEND them. I joined a Organization behaviour meetup based out of Minnesota, attended two behaviour science conferences that would have been too costly to attend otherwise and seminars that conflicted with my recitations. Also, being able to multi-task during boring parts of meetings is always a bonus

The study environment matters– Last semester, little bro got the office so I studied in my mum’s bedroom. Didn’t think much of it. This semester, I got the office and wow it makes a HUGE difference. There’ve been studies (and plenty of anecdote) on this but I’ve never really believed them until now.

Crappy Wifi, Crappy Life- Our neighborhood’s wifi sucks. I regularly got booted out of meetings or had unstable connection. Yeah…. not fun. Besides that, I nearly lost a major project because of interruption during video conversion and missed several important events because I could not connect. Elon, Apple and Google better get going on that free satellite wifi thing soon!
