Recipe Post: Gochujang Grilled Pork Belly

Another week another recipe!

One of my teammates is Korean and LOVES KBBQ (who doesn’t???) However, it’s very much out of budget. She had some pork belly slices so I decided to whip something up. Not to toot my own horn, but it turned out pretty great.

Let’s get cooking!

Notes:

  1. Use thin sliced pork belly (pictured below). This is available at most Asian grocers

2. Feel free to adjust proportions of ingredients to vary taste. Gochujang can be quite strong.

Gochujang Grilled Pork Belly

Ingredients

  • 1/4th cup gochujang
  • 1tbsp sesame oil
  • 1tbsp soy sauce
  • 1tbsp+1 tsp sugar
  • 2tbsp water
  • 5oz pork belly, sliced into rectangles (image above)

Directions

  1. Combine gochujang, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar and water in a bowl. It should be about as thick as syrup
  2. Pour over pork slices, mix evenly and marinade for 20-30 min
  3. Heat a nonstick pan on medium high heat. Place slices of meat flat on the pan. It should sizzle.
  4. Cook for 2-3 min/side until cooked through and slightly charred
  5. Serve and enjoy!

That’s it for now, I’ll be back soon for more!
