Recipe Post: Classic Chili

Hi, I’m back and very lucky to be safe with my family. The US has gone crazy over the past week, but it’s not my place to comment.

What I do know is that during stressful times, there’s nothing like comfort food to calm those nerves. So, I’m here with some serious comfort food: Chili!


Classic Chili

Ingredients:

  • 18oz ground beef
  • 2.5 cups tomato sauce
  • 1/2 large onion, diced
  • 3/4 large bell pepper, diced
  • 1/3 cup chicken stock
  • 1/2 large tomato, diced
  • salt and spices, to taste
  • 3tbsp olive oil
  • diced garlic, to taste

Directions

  1. In a large soup pot over medium high heat, sautee onion and bell pepper with garlic and spices until softened and fragrant.
  2. Stir in ground beef and cook until browned. Add in tomato sauce, chicken stock and diced tomatoes. Bring to a boil. Add more salt if necessary.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 25-30min.
  4. Serve and enjoy!
